Florals and Suede

Picked up this dress on sale at Aritzia a couple weeks ago… I was drawn in by the colors and print which promised seasonal versatility, but the real clincher for me was the back – I’m a sucker for an exposed zipper and an unexpectedly low back, and this piece has both. And it was on sale. Done deal, my friends.

Since the weather isn’t exactly cooperating with the calendar, I paired this floral number with suede boots – but I can’t wait to wear it with sandals or wedges when the temperatures go up! Until then… Have a great weekend, everyone!

Wearing – T. Babaton dress via Aritzia (like this too), Silence & Noise blazer, Calvin Klein boots (old, similar), vintage belt, Chocolate New York clutch (love this one), Michael Kors watch, J. Crew bracelets (here)

Keaton Row and Trendseeder Collab at Minds Matter Charity Event

Last night, some Keaton Row stylists and I attended the Minds Matter charity event hosted at the gorgeous venue Hudson Terrace. We were representing KR and Trendseeder, a start-up company that specializes in selling up-and-coming designers. The other stylists and I served as models for a few of the Trendseeder designer’s Spring fashions!

I was lucky enough to meet the co-founders and creative minds behind the designs that I wore from SPOON fashion: Randi Spoon and Alexis Przybylski Lawton. Thank you, ladies, for letting me borrow your lovely pieces for a night!

Wear Now, Wear Later: The Maxi Dress

Wear Now, Wear Later: The Maxi Dress
Round two of the “Wear Now, Wear Later” series (read the first post here)… I chose a pretty, floral maxi dress from Michael Kors because it’s just so hard to resist the gorgeous Spring-inspired pieces hitting the stores now (and oh, did I mention it’s only $112! Link to purchase below). So if you gave in and purchased a flirty, floral dress (or even if you have been pulling one of your own closet to just look at and long over) here are some ways to get the most mileage out of your traditionally Springy dresses/skirts.
Look 1: One styling trick I love is to layer cozy knits over your favorite flowy dresses and skirts in the cooler months. (Because the skirt is long and loose, you can also add tights or leggings and no one will know… shh, our secret). Add an ankle bootie and a modern, chic army jacket to keep the look young and fresh.
Michael Kors Maxi, Club Monaco T-neck, Opening Ceremony booties, Topshop Jacket, Jil Sander shopper, La Mer watch, Jenny Bird earrings
Look 2: When the weather finally warms, ditch all those extra layers and let the dress speak for itself. Strappy sandals work best under a voluminous skirt and simple gold jewelry will add the right amount of glitz.
Michael Kors maxi, Alaia sandals, similar hat, Nouv-Elle necklace, Kenneth Cole bangles, similar clutch
