I purchased these fancy pants over the summer, and I’ve surprisingly got a lot of use out of them… Worn with a silky black tank for a night out, dressed down with a casual white-T and denim jacket, or winterized with a leather jacket and comfy sweater. If it feels like pajamas, you better believe I am buying!

Not that you will need any layers this weekend (if you are a New Yorker at least…), but here is my take on casual winter layering. I am loving the new trend to use a denim jacket as a winter layering piece. My tips for achieving this layered look are: definitely pop the collar, choose an underneath layer with visual interest (like stripes) so that it pops, button up the denim jacket (a couple buttons will do) and leave the overcoat open. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
Fedora: gifted, Leather Jacket: Guess (old, similar here or here), Top: Zara (similar), Belt: vintage, Skirt: vintage (similar), Booties: Steve Madden c/o (similar), Scarf: via Marshalls (McQueen version), Watch: Michael Kors, Skull ring: BCBG (lusting over this one), Bracelet: J. Crew (old)
I was given this delightfullittle fedora for Christmas, which I immediately rejected as “too much” for me. My Mom refusedto return it, forced me to try it on everyday for a week, and finally convinced me (er, maybe?) that I looked “adorable” in it. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothingagainst hats. I often admire them on the heads of others, but I was never able to find one that fit my abnormally small dome (this version comes in sizes) or that seemed to fit my wardrobe. So here’s to new style adventures in 2013! Taking risks and taking names… while wearing a hat…
What do you think of my topper? Will you be taking fashion risks this year? Tell me in the comments!
I put together a little round-up of some of my looks from 2012. I want to give a special thank you to all who so kindly photographed me throughout the year – Elizabeth Chabot, Genevieve Aniello, Lydia Hudgens, and the Manfriend. I am very excited about the new year 2013, but first a look back…
This puffer has been in my closet since HS, but until recently it has been gathering dust toward the back. I was inspired by a few bloggers and street-style shots featuring puffer vests (like here and here), so I put this look together for the weekend. What do you think? Is the puffer the new chic topper for the weekend?
It is no secret that I love a maxi dress/skirt/anything… It is an insanely comfortable, yet feminine look that can easily transition from season to season. In the Fall, I layer up my maxis with sweaters, scarfs, jackets, fur, tights, etc. and add boots or booties. I wore this dress for a night out recently with a leather jacket, a statement necklace and heeled booties. For day, however, I opted for a more casual denim jacket and scarf combination. What do you think?
