Forgive my absence from the blogosphere – I’ve been busy figuring out my new job and my new city of Boston, with little time to update my site… But I’m back, and here is a weekend look that took me to Newbury Street for a leisurely walk and smoothies with the manfriend. You really can’t go wrong with a comfy striped top, jeans, and a broken-in pair of loafers. What’s your go-to weekend casual?
Wearing – Lucky Brand jeans (similar), J. Crew sweatshirt (love this similar top), Steve Madden loafers (similar), Kenneth Cole bag (gift), Gorjana rings (here and here), Michael Kors watch, Presh bracelet, BaubleBar bracelet, and straw fedora (last seen here).
And here it is, my friends… Part three of my 1 piece 3 ways series featuring this adorable and fun Madewell mixed-print tee! This simple but chic look is a go-to for me on these warmer Spring weekends. Also carrying my favorite new splurge, a Badgley Mishka bag featuring a fantastic jolt of green. Which look is your favorite: work, date or weekend? Happy Friday!
I describe my style as classic with a twist, so this is a pretty typical weekend outfit for me centered around the timeless formula of jeans, a button-down, and loafers. To add the twist I may wear a pair of leopard-print loafers or I may trade in printed or colored denim or I may add a whimsical touch with polka dot socks and nerd it up with glasses… you just never know
Oh, and if my coffee-cup tattoo isn’t a dead giveaway… I like coffee. Hope you all had a wonderful, coffee-buzzed weekend!
I hemmed and hawed over the Zara pants I posted yesterday (here)… I wasn’t sure how versatile they could be given the pink-ish hue and texture. I pulled the trigger anyway, and have found them to be surprisingly functional. I’ve put together three different looks for play, work, and a holiday party using this similar version by Malene Birger.
Look 1: The best way to dress down trousers is to add a comfortable sweater and flats. Wrap a leopard-print scarf around your shoulders, and you have a modern Audrey Hepburn-look.
I would venture the guess that 97% of the time, I do my hair and put makeup on… However, when the weather outside is not fit for man nor beast (as Yukon Cornelius would say in the Christmas classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer), I tend to go au natural. This is a prime example of that…
I truly believe every woman should attempt to be comfortable in their natural state, so this post honors that. There is never a time, however, when I prefer to go without heels… 🙂
