1 Piece, 3 Ways: Floral Pencil Skirt

1 Piece, 3 Ways: Floral Pencil Skirt
I love the unexpected mix of a bright floral print with a classic pencil skirt. This piece makes a statement, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear it all the time. Here are three unique ways to style such a bright skirt for weekend, work, and evening.
Look 1: Dress the skirt down with an easy striped T-shirt and sneakers. A denim jacket balances out the mix of patterns, and simple accessories won’t compete.
Graham & Spencer top, Madewell jacket, Keds sneakers, Forever 21 bracelets, Karen Walker sunnies
Look 2: A feminine peplum top adds sophistication, creating an office-appropriate look. Add chic pumps and a bold necklace in complementary hues for an extra touch of personality. A classic leather bag and trench in neutral colors keep the look polished.
DKNY top, Martin Grant trench coat, Charlotte Olympia pumps, Armani Exchange watch, Michael Kors bag, similar necklace
Look 3: This skirt packs a punch, so for evening accent it with black. A crop top (or full tank if you aren’t comfortable with putting your abs on display), sexy heels, and an accent bag are the perfect pieces to accompany such a playful skirt.

While I make the transition from New York to Boston, my wardrobe is making the transition from Winter to Spring. I love to wear my cozy winter knits over a skirt or dress while the weather is still warming up. I added a pretty floral scarf for some color and kept my diva shades on hand for when the sun was shining! How do you transition your look from Winter to Spring?

Prints Please

For some strange reason, I haven’t been able to get my boyfriend new photographer out of bed in the morning to take my picture before work… These mini shots thanks to the good old iPhone will have to suffice. Apparently, I have been crushing prints lately… which is your favorite?

Rainy Day

Wearing – Shorts: F21 (love this pair too), Shirt: J.Crew (similar), Socks: J.Crew (like this pair too), Boots: Michael Kors, Glasses: Tiffany & Co.

When I was a little girl, I used to put my bathing suit on and play outside in the rain with my big brother. (I wonder if I have any pictures of that scene…) Now, however, I avoid the rain like I’m the Wicked Witch of the West. What I mean to say is, this is one of the few times you will see me venturing in to the rain. Remember what I told you about humidity and my hair… yeah, just imagine it wet. Those were dark days before the invention of the flat iron…

Laid-Back

Jeans: Lucky Brand, Tank: F21, Crop sweater: Bobbles and Lace boutique, Lace booties: Steve Madden, Shades: RayBan

I am on my way to class, wearing comfortable and casual pieces. I particularly love these boyfriend jeans – they are so soft and slouchy, without being ill-fitting. What style/brand are your go-to comfy jeans?
