I wore a fisherman sweater/skirt combo last week, and unfortunately, didn’t snap a pic. However, I’ve been thinking about my ensemble ever since (yes, I do pat myself on the back for an outfit well done)… And luckily, I just got 27 pounds of laundry done, so I can totally recreate it ASAP. Until then, here is some inspiration from some other lovely sources.
And… A fisherman sweater and skirt ensemble in none other than OXBLOOD, courtesy of Blair of Atlantic-Pacific:
One thing to note – if you take on this look, be sure to wear contrasting textures, like in the examples above. A leather, silk, or even lace skirt works best to balance out the chunky knit. Another tip – if you are afraid of losing your shape, add a belt, tuck the sweater into the front, or look for a high-low sweater hem (see example numero uno).
I took it to Polyvorefor some more great ways to wear this look:
I know I am not alone in thinking it is about time Tom Ford made bike shorts. We have all been waiting a long time for the perfect chub-rub solution from the designer, and it is finally here. Thank you. But it doesn’t stop there…
We can also now purchase our own Matrix coat straight from the Tom Ford collection. The Neos of the world will find you irresistible, ladies.
But if the Matrix isn’t your thing, why not try a bold-hued superhero cape disguised as a cocktail dress? You never know when there will be trouble…
And then there’s this little number. What the !@*$ is it you might wonder? According to the Manfriend, it is the Wu Tang Clan symbol in dress-form. Uhhh… he might actually be right.
To be fair, I do genuinely like the rest of (er, most of) Tom Ford’s Spring 2013 collection. But some of the looks definitely left me scratching my head… What did you think?
So you have this great tank dress that you can throw on with heels and go because it is just that awesome? But how can you get more use out of said dress, especially with the weather cooling down? Wear it to the office and for a night out, of course! Pair it with a classic black blazer and nude pumps for work. Add a belt and a menswear inspired watch to keep the look professional and modern. Try slick gray nails as a fresh alternative to peach. For nighttime, ditch the blazer and belt and take on the dress over pants trend! Wear cool leather pants on the bottom and black pointed toe pumps. A chain necklace (vintage Givenchy!) and a bold lip amp up the look. What do you think? How would you style a tank dress for Fall?
This weekend called for comfort, so I paired these relaxed trouser pants with an easy gray tee and butter-soft loafers to walk around the city. I spent the weekend with my girlfriends – shopping, having dinner at Beecher’s in The Cellar, and enjoying many a pumpkin spice coffee because the beautiful Fall weather called for it. Hope you all had a nice weekend!
