Wish List: Long Sleeve Dresses

My office is freezing. I mean knit hat, thick socks, fisherman sweater, thermal pants, and scarf kind of freezing. I don’t want to give up my dresses for work, so I have been hunting for long-sleeve guys (that I can then layer the aforementioned pieces over… I kid). Here are some of my favorites, almost none of which I can afford… Enjoy 🙂

Wish List: Long Sleeve Dresses
Starting at the top… The darling and affordable H&M sheath dress, followed by the very unaffordable Balmain black blazer dress, Daniela Gregis shift dress, 10 Crosby Derek Lam printed plaid dress, Preen black and white dress, Balenciaga long sleeve shift dress, Moschino Cheap and Chic patchwork dress, Tory Burch Kathy dress, Diane von Furstenberg printed dress, Michael Kors tweed herringbone dress.
I should note – DVF and Michael Kors have a lot of great options that are not outrageously priced (ahem Balmain). Which is your favorite??

Oh yeah, I moved…

So I moved… Like 4 weeks ago. I had every intention of sharing pictures of my new place and some of my favorite home decs. However, I am only just getting around unpacking everything, furnishing, decorating, and putting on the finishing touches. I can’t guarantee it will ever be completed, but here are some snaps of things that are actually done I love…

Cool, vintage-y trunk for storage
Book shelves to hold some of my favorite shoes
I Love You Blogs and Coffee Poster
Bedside table, including a giraffe box the manfriend brought back from South Africa and what I am reading lately
Fashion Ave photograph and Jason Wu Spring 2012 print
Mannequin to hang our scarves and coats on
Watercolors from Jessica’s Little Shop of Illustration on Etsy

What are some of your favorite home decs? Have any great DIY ideas on the cheap? Share with me in the comments!

Fall Florals

Dress: Newburyport shop, Denim Jacket: Boston Proper (similar), Belt: vintage, Shoes: Jessica Simpson (old, but love this version), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (love this one too), Earrings: Anthropologie, Bracelets: gifted and vintage

Fall is my favorite season in New England York (I will always be a New Englander at heart…) The weather was beautiful on this day, and we enjoyed it at an outdoor brunch spot in SoHo. I wore one of my favorite floral numbers with OXBLOOD booties and a classic denim jacket. Hope you all had a nice weekend!

I’m a Professional… Sort of

When I left for work, the manfriend commented “You look so professional.” It could have just been his sleepy stupor talking, because had I been wearing pajamas and fuzzy slippers, he may have said the same thing. I kid. Anyway, this outfit started out great, but then wrinkles kicked in and this is what I ended up with by the end of the day… The old sloppy professional look (Sorry, Mommy).

Oxford: Izod via Marshalls (similar), Pants: Cynthia Steffe (old), Shoes: Franco Sarto (so old – I like these and these too), Watch: Michael Kors, Jewelry: mostly vintage

Happy Friday, everyone! Have a great weekend.

Trend Obsession: Oxblood

This started out as a trend report, and quickly changed into an obsession. I’m not in love with the name, but the color is AH-mazing! I painted my nails last night in an oxblood hue, and now I will commence to paint my entire life in this gorgeous color for Fall. See below for some serious style inspiration!

1 Piece, 3 Ways: Tweed Jacket

1 Piece, 3 Ways: Tweed Jacket
(Click image to see all products on Polyvore)
I am craving tweed jackets for Fall, so here are three different ways to style this Faith Connexion piece for the office, a date, and for casual-wear. Instead of a solid blouse underneath, opt for a pretty floral print at the office to keep the outfit fresh and light. Pointed-toe flats and some sparkle at the wrist pull the look together. For evening, what is better than a LBD? Complete the look with a statement necklace and interesting shoes in the same hue. To dress down the tweed jacket, choose flattering boot-cut jeans, a cool and comfortable Tee (I am obsessed with this one from Etsy), and beautiful, leather booties. How will you wear tweed this Fall?

Weekend Recap: Date Night

Blouse: Michael Kors, Shorts: Zara, Booties: Steve Madden (all old), Necklace: Off Fifth, Watch: Michael Kors, Cocktail Ring: random boutique (similar)

The manfriend and I went on a date this weekend to a cool little seafood restaurant in West Village. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere reminded me a lot of home. We snapped a quick pic of my outfit before we left, which was just simple chic… The accessories are the real focus here; a mixed-metallic statement necklace and green lace up booties. What do you think? Hope you all had a great weekend!

Recap: Various Fashion Events

NYFW is in full swing, and there are fashion events, shows, and exhibits dotting the city. Yesterday, I went to the Hermes Festival des Metiers, an exhibit honoring the crafts men and women who create the brand’s fabulous luxury items from ties to saddles to the famous silk scarves. Here are some photos from the exhibit:

Crafting silk ties
Scarves aplenty!

You should definitely go check the exhibit out if you live in the area – worth seeing how meticulously luxury items like this are made.

I also went to Fashion Night Out last night, which was a crazy, crowded, hot mess. I wore paisley printed, wide-leg trousers from Zara, a silk black tank, and black pumps with a wood heel by Michael Kors. (No pictures survived)… Here are some things that caught my eye from the night:

Picture wall at Kate Spade
Miniature cupcake at Paige Denim
Question mark clutch at Kate Spade
Pink moped and ensemble at C.Wonder

Did you go to FNO?? Tell me in the comments what you saw and loved from the big event!
